St Swithuns Combe

St Swithuns, Combe

A charming 12th century (1160) Norman Church which attracts visitors from all over the world.  It is becoming increasingly popular as a wedding venue with couples joining the congregation on a regular basis.

Two services are held each month -- sung Matins on the second Sunday and Communion on the fourth Sunday of the month.  Both these services are taken from the 1662 Prayer Book and the lessons are read from the King James Bible.  Music is a central feature of the services and we are fortunate to have an excellent organist.  The average congregation is 15 – 20 with several coming from outside the community. There is a developing ministry amongst wedding couples, which is being built on across the Benefice. The Christmas Carol and Easter services, which have built a reputation for the traditional services we support, attracting congregations of 50 people.
