Newbury Street Pastors

Newbury Street Pastors: Caring, Listening and Helping.

Did you know that Street Pastors operates in Newbury?  Each Saturday night the Newbury Street Pastor volunteers give their time to help people in the town who might need assistance during a night out.  They wear high visibility jackets and carry rucksacks containing kit.  They are present in and around the town centre being a safe presence and watching out for the vulnerable.  Many of those who receive help have travelled into Newbury from further afield.

They provide a range of assistance, e.g. finding taxis to get people home safely, and offering genuine support to anyone who needs it.  They solve problems before they become serious, or official.  The Street Pastors operate in teams on a monthly rota, patrolling on Saturdays and other significant occasions.  They typically work from 10pm to 4am and are linked by radio with door staff, CCTV, and police.  They are supported by a team of prayer partners.

If you are able to support Newbury Street Pastors, or are interested in becoming a Street or Prayer Pastor, we would love to hear from you.  Please contact newbury@ streetpastors.org.uk or telephone 07541 964134.
